Experience

My passion for teaching and learning started at a very young age, thanks in part to some amazing teachers. As an adolescent, tutoring and other supports helped me reach my potential as a student. As a professional, my practice involves utilizing research-based strategies to help students develop their academic and social skills. Learning is a very complex process, and it occurs differently in each of us. My hope is that I can help you (or your child) better understand different strategies that can be used to foster an intrinsic passion for learning.

"Tell me and I forget.
Teach me and I remember.
Involve me and I learn."

I am interested in tutoring because I enjoy working with students and have experience using research-based strategies to support development in various subjects. I enjoy working with many different types of learners and have worked with students from all levels.

I currently work as a high school teacher in the special education and science departments in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. I have experience working with students that have IEPs, students in ESL/ELL programs, students with ASD. I have a wealth of organization and learning strategies that I have used as a teacher to support students that have difficulty with organization, self-advocacy, test-taking, and other executive functions.
